To test the memory in your PC you can download a free program from here http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

Memtest is a downloable ISO file. You will need to burn this to a CD. Then put the CD into your optical drive and reboot the PC. The PC will reboot and automatically start the testing program. It's suggest for best results to leave MemTest running for 6 to 12 hours.

If you are using Windows 7 you can use a built in program to do a quick test the memory/RAM in your PC.

  • Click the Windows 7 Start button, type memory, and click on Windows Memory Diagnostic
  • When the Windows Memory Diagnostic screen loads, click Restart now and check for problems.
  • You computer will reboot.
  • The memory diagnostic will run and may take some time depending how much RAM is in your PC.
  • Windows will restart and report if the memory test passed or failed.
